The Importance of Sleep
For anyone actively trying to conceive or anyone who already has, I wanted to pass on and reiterate how important sleep and sleep cycles in general are to ensuring your success in the fertility realm. In a nutshell, your uterus wants you to go to sleep at dark (or as close to that as possible) and wake when the sun comes out (or once again, the closest to that, the better). Working the night shift, staying up late and sleeping late to "catch up", or getting up at 3:30 a.m. to work out or go to work--these are not ideal patterns for you during the time when you are pregnant or actively trying to get pregnant. It is best to try to stick to the "early to bed" "early to rise" (but not TOO early!) at this time.
